Before the crowds hit this summer, springtime is an ideal time to visit the Big Apple, according to our NYC PR firm.   The standard tourist sites are quiet, like the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building, and the Bronx Botanical Garden, an easy Metro ride from Manhattan, is replete with daffodils and apple blossoms.

Museums to hit include the new Whitney in downtown Manhattan. Reviewed extensively for its stunning architecture, the building is a stark contrast of horizontal and vertical planes. Paul Goldberger recently reviewed it, designed by the Pritzer Price winner, Renzo Piano. See the review here: http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/2015/04/new-whitney-museum-paul-goldberger.

The Rubin Museum happens to be one of my favorites tucked away on the West Side of Manhattan on 24th Street, and is the only one that features exclusively Himalayan Art. Their gift shop is superb for pashminas, books and trinkets from Tibet, and the café where you can stop for a relaxing glass of wine or cappuccino is a quiet place to reflect on the sacred art you will take in there.

PR Agency in NYC Recommendations:

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a classic, and no matter how many times I go back I am still surprised by exhibits I never noticed – this too, after living in NYC where our PR agency has its roots, for decades! If you are looking for the iconic paintings by Turner, just go to the top of the first floor and you will see enormous canvases. The American Wing features Tiffany Stain Glass, and the Temple of Dendur, donated by the Egyptian Government and surrounded by a reflecting pool, is peaceful and intriguing. You can walk into the Temple itself and with Central Park’s cherry blossoms seen through the window wall, its sublime.

The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are an easy jaunt from Manhattan, and feature extensive grounds and a spectacular conservatory with rotating exhibits. Orchids, if that’s your fancy, are always plentiful, and often butterflies fly free in the soaring space.

Central Park itself closes its streets on the weekends, and the parade of people, joggers and bike riders, is an endless stream of fascination. The Central Park Zoo is small yet diversified and always a joy to kids and adults alike. Make sure you get there in time to see the seals feeding when they screech with delight! A croissant or Panini is yummy at their restaurant. (My fave are the chimps, which spend hours grooming each other, and are centrally located on cliffs and hills rising above the grounds.)

NYCgo.com is the official site for the city, and offers a complete guide to attractions, dining and places to stay. Our travel PR agency represented this government entity and I can assure you the information are always current and comprehensive. Plan your trip now!
