After the sweltering heat that marks New York City life in the summer months, the crisp, cooler air of autumn emerges each year to breathe new life into the city and its residents. At our NYC PR agency, autumn’s energy is palpable with the calm of summer excitingly combusting to spark creative planning for our media relations efforts in the months ahead.

As we find inspiration in the seasons and return inspired from our lunch hour, our team is sharing its picks for NYC’s top five Fall foodie festivities.

1. Thrillist’s Barbecue & The Blues – For the fifth year running, Thrillist is paying homage to two of life’s great joys – barbecue, smoked meat and sultry blues music. This year’s event is hosted by the cast of The Food Network show The Kitchen and will include custom BBQ delights from NYC’s top chefs. The event is on Friday, October 17 from 7 pm to 10 pm. http://nycwff.org/e/thrillist’s_barbecue_&_the_blues-139

2. Slurpfest Are you into ramen? If so, don’t miss the second annual Slurpfest hosted by Luckyrice. Learn to authentically partake in the ramen eating tradition with tips that will allow you to tap into your strength and speed to consume your bowl of this popular Japanese meal at record pace. Four seatings are available on October 23. http://luckyrice.com/upcoming-events#slurpfest

3. Cider Week – It’s safe to say that fall wouldn’t be fall without cider. Take time to celebrate New York City’s love for hard cider during Cider Week, October 24-November 2. Events are at bars all over the city! http://ciderweeknyc.com/

4. A Nite to Dismember – Okay, so maybe this one isn’t completely food focused, but it does allow New Yorker’s to do three (or four) of our favorite things – celebrate Halloween, honor a category of cinema, relish some great libations and enjoy a breakfast buffet. Spend Halloween night with your friends pulling an all-nighter to watch five classic horror flicks over cocktails before helping yourself to a self-serve breakfast buffet. http://www.nitehawkcinema.com/movie/a-nite-to-dismember/

5. NY Craft Beer Festival – With nearly 75 breweries participating, this is the grand opportunity for NYC’s beer aficionados to enjoy an afternoon tasting close to 150 craft beers. Don’t worry, tastings are in two ounce pours, so there will be plenty of opportunity to sample with food available for purchase as well. http://nyccraftbeerfest.com/about
