Calling all foodies! The time is finally upon us and we are welcoming one of the best times of year in NYC – Restaurant Week! As one of NYC’s boutique PR firms it’s (happily) part of our job to stay in the know about the ever-changing restaurant scene. Restaurant Week is the perfect time to check out some of the greatest eats in town and we are here to give you the lowdown.

New York City has always had a reputation for being one of the best places in the country for inventive, vibrant, and quality restaurants. New Yorkers are spoiled with a plethora of options but it can at times be overwhelming as well as a challenge financially to try and keep up. So twice a year New York City’s restaurants get a time to shine and their customers get a great bargain and excuse to head out on the town.

The Restaurant Week 411

Lure Fishbar in NYC

The fresh sushi and fish at Lure Fishbar, one of Restaurant Week’s participants, has garnered a lot of attention from the NYC public.

The official dates of this Summer’s Restaurant Week are July 21st-August 15th but Saturdays are excluded and Sunday’s are optional. Be sure to check with the restaurant that they are participating before booking a reservation. This year there are over 300 participants all offering amazing three-course, prix-fixe meals. If you want to check out a lunch menu the cost is set at $25.00 and dinners are fixed at $38.00.

I am using this opportunity to revisit some of my old favorites as well as explore some of the places on my restaurant bucket list. First up is Lure Fishbar!

Lure Fishbar

142 Mercer Street

I have yet to experience the food at Lure but a friend secured us a spot to try it out tonight and I could not be more excited. I have walked by the street level Lure in the buzzing SoHo neighborhood but have never had the occasion or excuse to spend that kind of money. Luckily for me I will be getting a three-course meal of fresh and creative takes on the classic fish-house menu for a fraction of the cost. The décor is reminiscent of a luxury yacht and exudes class as well as a cultured nightlife scene.
