One of the super things about YouTube, one of the biggest and most powerful social media platforms, is that you can watch world-class performances of great music right in your own living room with your computer or better yet, Apple TV. As I am writing this, I am listening to the aria on La Wally, which, I’ll admit it – I first fell in love with during a British Airways ad in the 1990s.

What’s particularly marvelous about this airing is that the libretto is right there as Angela is singing it! And, boy, it just pours out of her.

Many years ago, I was hosting a group of journalists in Vienna when our travel PR firm represented Hilton, and we went the the Opera House, a jewel box of renown. The acoustics were sublime, and it was transporting. It was a forgettable opera, but the experience lives on in my treasure trove of experiences as many do for my colleagues and I in travel PR.

Take a listen to La Wally, weep and rejoice –you don’t even need to get on a plane!
